Join James as he chats with Christine Sullivan, SVP Risk Control Director at Sompo International and most recent Past-President for the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), as we discuss how we get to where we want to be in safety. As Christine states, it’s a journey and how important diversity is in moving things forward: changes are made through inclusion and steps. Christine and James also discuss DEI as a business driver and how safety fits within. Christine also chats a bit about her tenure in ASSP and the joys of being a volunteer leader, including how ASSP works and what you get back from being a volunteer leader.
In part two of our session with Maribeth Anderson, MPA, CSP, Maribeth and James discuss leadership with and for safety, and her experiences as developing into a safety leader. Maribeth discusses how she learned from reflecting on situations to improve herself as a leader and shares takeaways of leadership which we can all use. Maribeth is a Global Safety Director and the first ASSP Council on Regional Affairs Vice President, and she has a great wealth of experience in safety leadership during crises.
