“Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion.” – Jack Welch
Visions are developed as a “visual reference” to focus an organization. From there, strategies are set up to ensure efforts made achieve the journey to the vision. Safety has to be part of that vision, for without it, the vision may never be realized due to foreseeable risks not being managed. A vision can also set up a positive culture by driving a shared community which engages for safety success. Alignment is the key to ensure the vision for safety is a contributing success to the organization.
