One of the challenges businesses face with safety is productivity disruption and cost: at least that appears to be the common view of most business managers. However, business leaders understand the importance of safety as a productive, efficiency-generating integration. Safety Professionals know that company people aren’t motivated by process; rather, motivation comes from “what’s in it for me.” Recognition, participation in improvement, and satisfaction from contribution that’s meaningful make a difference, and safety can bring all of those things to the fore when used to make processes and the workplace better.
