Ask anyone who is or has been in business and whether it’s successful or not, they’re proud to tell you at least they tried. Leaders with the characteristics and skills we look up to believe that trying is the greatest catalyst to success. Safety is typically viewed as an “impossible” task: it’s the reason why employees can’t be productive and it’s cost prohibitive. Safety professionals know that safety is an investment in a journey to improve the workplace so people can be productive and enjoy what they do because the fear of a needless injury risk is abated, all with a great return. You can only be successful if you try.
