Businesses that succeed don’t wait for something to happen: they make them happen. Since the safety process is a mirror of the business process, then safety must also seek opportunities to be successful. Being idle and waiting for something to happen diminishes the value of safety. As we head into the Memorial Day weekend, give thought of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice: they got up and made the opportunities happen for others.
