In business, focus on what gets performance and results is paramount. Barriers and problems are viewed as challenges to overcome, and that’s what leads to innovation. In safety, Safety Professionals face barriers (i.e., show me the regulation, how much will this cost, we’ve never done it that way) all the time. Here, barriers can become challenges (i.e., show me where it doesn’t say that, how much of a return do we make, time to innovate) resulting in a safety process that performs and flies.
